An e-bike falls differently from a regular bike
The arithmetic is simple enough. A typical aluminum commuter weighs somewhere in the twenties of pounds. Put a battery, a hub or mid-drive motor, a stouter frame and fatter tires on it, and the same bike can sit at two or three times that. Every one of those pounds is carried by whatever holds the bike up when it is parked, and most of that load is asked of a single leg at an angle.
Two things follow from it. The first is that the stand has to be long enough and stiff enough to plant the bike properly rather than leaning it at the edge of its balance. The second is that a lot of e-bikes arrive with either no stand at all or a token one that was specified for the frame before the motor and the battery went on it, which is the situation most people are in when they search for a replacement.
There is a cost argument underneath the mechanical one. A bike that falls in a driveway takes the brake lever, the display, the derailleur hanger and sometimes the battery mount with it. On a pedal bike that is a bad afternoon. On an electric bike the display alone can cost more than this stand does, which is the whole reason a part this small is worth thinking about at all.

If your bike is at the heavy end of the e-bike range, the practical advice is to set the leg on the short side rather than the long side once it is fitted, so the bike stands closer to upright and less of its mass hangs out past the contact point. Park it on hard flat ground where you can, and turn the front wheel into the stand so the bike is not free to roll off it. None of that is specific to our stand. The S range is the one that surprises people. Fat tire electric bikes and folding electric bikes both look substantial, and their owners reach for the larger option out of instinct, but a 20 inch wheel is a 20 inch wheel whether the tire on it is 1.75 inches wide or 4.0 inches wide. If the bike you are shopping for is smaller than 20 inches, this is the wrong page. At 20 inches the two ranges overlap, and the choice between them is a choice between a fixed steel leg for a child's bike and an adjustable aluminum one built for adult weight.
Two holes, three holes, or nothing there at all
This is the decision that cannot be undone with an Allen key later, so it is worth doing before you order rather than after the box arrives. The good news is that it takes about a minute and needs no tools.
- Stand the bike upright and look at the area immediately behind the crank on the non-chain side, where the two rear tubes leave the frame.
- Look for a flat bracket with bolt holes in it. Count them. Two holes and three holes are both common, and the three-hole pattern is the one you meet most often on mountain bike frames.
- If a previous stand was removed, the empty holes are still there and they still count. That is your pattern.
- If there is no bracket and no hole anywhere in that area, look underneath the bottom bracket shell instead. A frame designed that way takes the center mount, which clamps under the shell rather than against the stay.
- If none of those three things is present, this frame is not built for a bolt-on side stand at all, and no version of this product will change that.
Full-suspension electric mountain bikes are the case that catches people out, because the rear triangle pivots and there is frequently nowhere fixed to bolt against. A rear that moves under load is not a mounting point for a parking stand at any price.

Fitting it once it arrives
Both Allen keys you need are in the bag. Sit the plate flat against the mounting point, run the bolt through, and tighten it firmly without leaning on it. Then set the leg length with the bike loaded the way you actually park it, because a bike with a rack, a pannier and a battery sits lower than an empty one. Fold the leg up, spin the cranks backward a full turn, and check that nothing touches the tire or the crank arm.
Set the lean rather than the height. A bike parked almost vertical is one gust from going over, and a bike leaning too far is putting its whole weight on the tip of the leg.
